The University is committed to enhancing the employability and professional success of its alumni and students. In increasingly competitive job markets, professional networks provide connections and opportunities through online and face to face activities.
York Alumni Association aims to facilitate professional networking activities that connect alumni with one another, and with current students through its Professional Network Programme.
The networks will focus on specific professions and will comprise planned activities (e.g. events, presentations, proactive communications) and informal connections (e.g. one-to-one meetings after events, email exchanges, discussion forums).
Find out more about our networking events...
Our networking events are designed to promote connections between students and professionals working across a range of sectors and was a great success. You can find out more about our upcoming networking events on the Alumni Events page.
Why should you join the Professional Network Programme?
The networks are informal and will grow naturally; there is no formal commitment or charge to join. All alumni can benefit from networking with graduates in similar professions, exploring new connections and opportunities:
- Senior alumni and advocates can play a leading role in supporting the career progression of alumni, and access a talented range of York graduates;
- Younger alumni can benefit from the expertise, advice and support of more experienced graduates, and from their peers;
- Current students can advantage from networking with graduates in the early stages of their career.
