Internship sponsor
The role:
In an increasingly competitive job market, students need to be able to differentiate themselves from their peers. Obtaining high quality work experience is one of the best ways to do this. The Student Internship Bureau works with employers to create paid project-based internships, which aim to stretch and challenge our students, and provide a tangible output to host organisations. Internships take place over the summer vacation, or, on a part-time basis during term time.
The person:
- Do you or your organisation have a business challenge that could be transformed into a project-based internship for one of our students?
- Are you/your organisation in a position to provide a structured, paid internship opportunity, with a mentor to support the student during their placement?
The commitment:
Summer vacation internships range from between 6 and 12 weeks on a full-time basis. The part-time term time option can be for a minimum of 40 hours up to a maximum of 200 hours. The Student Internship Bureau provides a free recruitment and contracting service, which aims to keep administration for the host to a minimum. It is the host’s responsibility to select an Intern from a pre-screened shortlist, provide a project of an appropriate nature, appoint a named mentor for the duration of the internship and provide feedback on the intern at the end of the project.
