Making the most of your donation

Under the Gift Aid scheme, tax can be reclaimed on donations of any amount as long as you are a UK taxpayer and sign a Gift Aid Declaration. This means that the University can receive an extra 25 pence for each pound you donate from HM Revenue & Customs. You simply have to have paid tax equal to the sum that all charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs you give to in a tax year will reclaim. £100 can be turned into £125 just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid.

If you are a higher rate tax payer you can reclaim the balance of the tax paid on your donation (please see table below) on your annual tax return.
