US Alumni Connections Fund
It is the University’s ambition to develop a wide range of international opportunities for students during their studies.
For students who have the chance to study and work abroad, these are life changing experiences which broaden cultural and academic understanding. In an increasingly competitive employment market, the ability to work across cultures can give York students a distinct advantage with employers.
With support directed first and foremost to students who would find it difficult to undertake the experience without it, your gift to the US Alumni Connections Fund will have a real impact.
The US Alumni Connections Fund builds on the successful work started by the Visiting Scholarship Fund (established in 2007) which, thanks to you, has so far helped over 49 University of York students to make the most out of a north American academic exchange.
From 2014 the US Alumni Connections Fund will provide support across more areas from including grants to assist students to take up internships placements with US companies.
We need your help
For students like Emma (right), taking advantage of international opportunities presents a real financial hurdle and it is difficult to fund the experience without support.
Your gift will help to widen the horizons of the next generation of York students and in doing so strengthen our alumni community in the USA.
Be part of the University’s 50th Anniversary by making a gift to the US Alumni Connections Fund today. Read about our students experience

At Columbia I have the opportunity to take a wide range of classes with professors who are leaders in their field, in one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world. Support from alumni like you has helped to ease the financial burden of everyday costs and allowed me to become familiar with my surroundings, so that I now feel more independent, confident and safe in my new home; New York City.
